I am moving a working list

Record consent, suppressed addresses, tags, automations and required exports. Verify the destination's import rules before moving subscribers.

Try the migration decision example

Kit billing check: for up to 1,000 subscribers, Creator is listed at $39 per month when paid monthly, or $390 billed yearly. The annual page displays a rounded $33 monthly equivalent; that is not a $33 monthly payment. Twelve $39 payments total $468, $78 above the annual charge before tax or extras. Sources: Kit's plan guide (opens in a new tab) and pricing (opens in a new tab), checked October 31, 2026.

Work through a list-migration decision

Fictional example: a newsletter has 900 active subscribers, 40 suppressed addresses, three tags and a two-message welcome sequence. A large advertised subscriber allowance does not prove that the required sequence or migration works.

  1. Record the plan needed for the sequence, tags and integrations, and confirm how the provider counts subscribers.
  2. Check the destination's documented import and suppression handling. Use a small permitted test with addresses you control; do not reactivate suppressed contacts as part of an import.
  3. Check the form, confirmation, both welcome messages and unsubscribe result. Record what passed and what remains unknown.

If the sequence or suppression handling is unresolved, keep the current setup while resolving it. If the job works, compare the complete billing commitment before switching. Use the email-software decision paths if neither option fits.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is ConvertKit the same as Kit?

Yes. ConvertKit rebranded as Kit; the product is the same email marketing platform for creators. We use the familiar ConvertKit name on this page.

Can Systeme.io replace ConvertKit?

It can for many beginners, because Systeme.io includes email marketing alongside funnels and courses. Creators who rely heavily on tagging, segmentation and creator-focused features may still prefer ConvertKit.

Which is better for affiliate marketers?

It depends on what you send. ConvertKit (Kit) fits a creator who publishes their own content and adds labeled affiliate links; its policy does not allow 100% affiliate-based content, affiliate educational offers or make-money-online promotions. Systeme.io gives you landing pages, funnels and email in one tool; check its current terms for your exact email use too.
